Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Academy
Carretera de Guerra, Santo Domingo, República Dominicana 2017
Currently under construction in Guerra, the Tampa Bay Rays’ new training facility is set to be the largest MLB facility in the country. The complex includes three fields (two with natural grass and one with artificial turf), an administrative building, a clubhouse, and residential quarters. Among its most notable features are an indoor area with two half-fields under one roof, a large climate-controlled gym, a specialized batting cage, and an observation tower. The design is inspired by the silhouette of a manta ray, incorporating curved roofs and references to Tampa Bay, and combines athletic identity with functionality.
