Habitat 22
Viejo Arroyo Hondo, República Dominicana 2010
Habitat 22, located in the Viejo Arroyo Hondo neighborhood, was conceived as a complex of one- and two-bedroom apartments, with a focus on optimizing interior space and maximizing natural light and ventilation. The complex is arranged in a four-story linear block, with a design that prioritizes natural lighting, cross-ventilation, and programmatic flexibility. The units on the fourth level are distinguished by their double-height ceilings and private terraces, offering the possibility of customization according to the user’s needs. Metal staircases, recessed volumes, floating balconies, and the use of color in certain sections accentuate the complex’s architectural identity. The formal design embraces “the beauty of simplicity,” with clean lines and an image of understated modernity.
